A Review of the New Starbucks Mango Cake

Released just this January is Starbucks Philippines’ newest addition to their cake line-up called, the Mango Cake. And about a week ago, we went to the nearest Starbucks to give it a try.

The cake costs ₱140 per slice. It has layers of moist, buttery chiffon cake, meringue, chunks of mangoes, creamy mango mousse, and mango butter cream icing. The sides are covered with a generous amount of chopped almonds.

The taste and appearance of the cake reminded me so much of Conti’s Mango Bravo cake—not too sweet and has a crunchy meringue layer, but Starbucks’ has a nuttier taste and is not covered in too much cream. It’s also firmer when you slice it using a fork.
